Schools bursary scheme
We want everyone to be able to explore the Royal Parks and be inspired by their diverse natural environments in the heart of London.
We understand that the costs of taking a group out to them can be challenging for schools and parents. Thanks to generous funding from the Royal Parks Foundation USA, we’re able to offer a limited number of bursaries for schools who would otherwise be unable to visit.
The Royal Parks’ Learning team works in partnership with the Field Studies Council and The Holly Lodge Centre to welcome groups to our parks across London.
Any non-fee-paying school or alternative education setting in Greater London who can demonstrate a need for the bursary due to at least one of the following:
- Over 20% of students eligible for free school meals
- Facing challenges in order to provide a quality educational experience, e.g. over 45% of students with English as an additional language; transient student population; etc.
Depending on bursary availability and evidence, successful schools will be offered either part funding or fully funded sessions.
Schools may apply for up to two bursary-funded days per academic year. Each bursary covers a full day of activities in the park, or equivalent. We will work with you to schedule the visits ensuring that you and your students get the most out of the opportunity.
* The Royal Parks bursary scheme does not yet cover visits to Greenwich Park.
